So let's start with a guided mindfulness practice of bringing awareness into our bodies and removing the fuel of anxiety by finding a posture that feels relaxed and alert. In whatever posture you'd like, you can close your eyes or look downward. Drop your shoulders and relax any tight muscles or areas where you may be holding on a little bit.
It's releasing excess tension from the body. Breathing naturally and inviting a sense of ease into the body. Can you feel the weight of gravity? As you feel your body touch the ground or the chair, what does it feel like to be touching the ground or the chair?
Perhaps you can flex a muscle or two in your leg or belly or arm. Just notice what it's like to have arms right now. Notice what the belly feels like. Or get a sense of how the legs feel. Sensing from the inside out, muscles of your body, all the different bones.
And the air that's coming through your nostrils or your mouth, filling your belly with each in breath. How amazing it is to breathe in this body. So many bones, so many organs working together. Air moving in and out of your lungs.
Sensing more and more into the physical nature of your body. Excellent. Well done.
