So let's start this mindfulness practice of noting, thinking, or feeling to help alleviate anxiety by finding a posture that feels relaxed and alert. You can be standing, sitting, or lying down. Find a posture that feels dignified and awake.
You can close your eyes or look downward just to limit visual distractions and invite a sense of ease in the body. See if you can maintain your awareness on the rise and fall of your belly as you breathe normally. Sensing into the rise and fall of your belly as you breathe.
I'm curious if you got distracted. Were you distracted by thoughts or by physical sensations? If you're distracted by thoughts, just note to yourself, thinking. If you're distracted by physical sensations, just note to yourself, feeling, feeling, and then come back to the rise and fall of your belly as you breathe.
And how about now? Just noting, thinking, thinking or feeling, feeling if you're distracted, and then come back to the rise and fall of your belly as you breathe. Sensing into the belly, the sense of curiosity and attention.
Excellent. Well done.
